Class Descriptions



TRX® Suspension Training- Suspension Training® bodyweight exercise allow users to self-adjust the amount of resistance they want, making it suitable for people of all fitness levels by making small changes in foot, hand or body position; this capability empowers participants to continue with training, even when fatigue sets in. This versatility makes the TRX® attractive to many users, including elite athletes in every major sports league, all branches of the military, and fitness enthusiasts at all levels.



Kettlebells - Kettlebells deliver extreme all-round fitness. The Russian kettlebell can replace barbells, dumbbells, medicine balls, and cardio equipment, just to name a few. Kettlebell training is more than just exercise. It is a skill that will benefit the user in all areas of life, whether that is training for a sport or the sport of life. Kettlebell training torches calories and builds a physique unlike any other. The basis of kettlebell training is strength and mobility. A body can not be strong unless it is mobile, and a body can not be functional unless it is strong. Because it is a skill, it does take dedication and commitment to get the best results ... but even one class per week will benefit the user of the kettlebell.


Core Fusion- This class will work and strengthen the entire core using the TRX, Kettlebells and body weight exercises.


Total Body Circuits -  Fun, hi-energy class using a variety of equipment to work all muscle groups in 45 minutes.  Class format uses timed circuits to work on muscular and cardio vascular strength and endurance working at YOUR own fitness level.


Chair Yoga – Yoga-with-a-chair is an ideal class for the young at heart who want to feel more energetic and flexible. Also, Yoga improves balance, lowers blood pressure and helps build bone density. Prerequisite: Students must be able to get down and up from the floor using a chair.


Gentle Yoga – This class is suitable for all levels, especially people just beginning their Yoga practice. This class is more relaxing, more encouraging, has less complex transitions, and more deep breathing. Intermediate and advanced level practitioners can enjoy this class by increasing their awareness and breath-to-body connection. Prerequisite: Students should be able to get up and down from the floor without assistance.


Yoga Flow/Restorative Yoga- This class is appropriate for all students seeking the benefits of a slower paced class with more opportunities for rest with added restorative poses.  A shortened yoga flow practice is followed with a few restorative postures using props such as blocks, bolsters and straps before moving into a guided final relaxation. All levels welcome!


Yoga Flow- An ideal class to both challenge and relax you. Yoga flow combines poses from gentle to intermediate yoga.  Emphasis is placed on stretching and balance to build strength, perseverance and flexibility as well as coordination of breath with movement and attention to alignment in a calm, relaxed environment.  Classes begin and end with a guided relaxation to release tension, reduce stress and renew the body and spirit.  All levels are welcome, some yoga experience helpful but not required.  Prerequisite:  Students should be able to get up and down the floor without assistance.


Hatha Yoga - Hatha Yoga is an all levels style of yoga. It is a slower paced class with no flowing between poses. It combines proper alignment of postures with breathing and mental focus to develop awareness, strength, flexibility and relaxation.


Vinyasa Yoga- Vinyasa is a discipline that utilizes postures and breathing techniques. This form of yoga offers a range of health benefits to those who practice it, as it encompasses all areas of mind, body and spirit. Vinyasa yoga is often faster paced, and the assanas (postures) are linked together in a series of movements that are synchronized with the breath. The continual movements, from one pose to another, gives you an added cardiovascular benefit, which more traditional forms of yoga do not have. The routine practice of vinyasa yoga can increase muscle strength, endurance and flexibility, and reduce levels of stress.


Yoga with Weights - Yoga helps reduce stress, release toxins and calm the mind. This Yoga with Weights class will also help work on more toning and muscle strength, balance, coordination, and flexibility. It's a Vinyasa flow class that links together the breath and the movement with hand weights used intermittently through out. Typically weights used are 2--10 lbs. Please bring your own if you have them already. The studio does have 1-5 lbs to borrow if needed.


Tai-Chi - A gentle and gracefull series of 24 movements suitable for all fitness levels.  Some benefits include increased balance and strength while nurturing the mind/body connection.


Mindful Movement -  A meditative class truly suitable for all activity levels and backgrounds!  Engage in simple, flowing movements to quiet the mind and restore the soul.  Breathe.  Move.  Relax.  Effects you may encounter:  decreased stress, increased joy, reduced muscular tension, improved immune system, and the list goes on. . .

Family Yoga -  Together, you and your child will do yoga poses, play games, sing songs, get silly and ignite imagination through relaxation.  For preschoolers with parent/caregiver. 

Teen Yoga -  For grades 6-12.  Powerful poses, positive affirmations and focused breathing meet in a judgment and competition free atmosphere.   Strengthen, stretch and sustain body, mind and spirit.  Go on: Empower YOU!


Cardio Rox-ie - A fun-filled hour of cardio, strength and stretching....designed to give your heart, mind and whole body a workout! Let's rock!!


Rockin' Roxie's Stretch & Stength - Let's focus on your core and strength! After a short warm up, this class will focus on core and muscle strength. Improve your bone density and finish with great stretching, including yoga!   A great way to end the week! 


DanceFit- This high intensity cardio class has got you covered from head-to-toe.  It mixes easy to follow dance moves, strength training, and stretching in one fun 45 minute class.

FusionFit- A variation of DanceFit incorporating more strength training throughout the workout.  

PowerToning- If dancing isn't your thing, then this class is for you.  45 minutes of strength training with weights and mat work all set to Top 40 hits.

PowerStretch- Boost up your regular workout by combining stretching and strength training


ZUMBA- Zumba® is a Latin-inspired, dance-fitness class that incorporates Latin and International music. Each session will be different enough so you stay challenged, but true to the Zumba experience as you learn how to exercise to a fun beat. Zumba can improve how you feel about yourself and motivate you to get moving! You will have a blast! Wearing comfortable clothes and gym shoes are strongly suggested. Also, a water bottle and a towel are encouraged to keep cool.


IN BALANCE  BARRE - In Balance's  own fun fusion of yoga, ballet, pilates and cardio while using props and your own body to challenge you in many ways---toning, strengthening and elongating your muscles and centering and balancing your body all in one!  No two classes will be the same here!  Deb and Stacy will be trading off as instructor on Saturday mornings.  Meet you at the Barre!
